Mohd Nordin bin Jamaludin

Chief Corporate Services Officer, Johor Corporation Director, JLand Group (JLG)

Mohd Nordin Jamaludin commenced his tenure as Chief Corporate Services Officer (“CCSO”) with Johor Corporation (“JCorp”) on 2 February 2020. He brings to JCorp vast experience, exceeding 30 years in corporate secretarialship, legal advisory, human capital management and internal audit. His technical knowledge, progressive leadership and foundational counsel in corporate and legal governance will prove to be a strong pillar in supporting the President and Chief Executive of Johor Corporation to transform the organisation into a sustainable revenue growth contributor to the state economy of Johor. 

Mohd Nordin Jamaludin’s strong relationships built over the years with both State and Federal Government- linked companies would serve JCorp and its group of subsidiaries as a strategic move to grow its diverse portfolio of businesses and realise its vision to boost both state and national economies. His previous position as Executive Vice President at Iskandar Investment Berhad (a GLC and the master developer in the Iskandar Malaysia Development Region in Johor) reporting to the Board of Directors, President and CEO of companies, had equipped him with hands-on exposure to turnkey catalytic development projects, corporate secretarial and human capital management that align with JCorp’s purpose of ‘Membela and Membina’ (Wealth Creation & Wealth Distribution) for the state of Johor. 

As the Executive Vice President at Iskandar Investment Berhad from 2008 to 2018, Mohd Nordin was responsible for all company secretarial matters and ensured full compliance to relevant statutory requirements to mitigate risk of reprimand and related fines due to non-compliance for JCorp and its entire group of subsidiaries. He further formulated long-term human capital and business execution strategy by leveraging on the company’s in- house human capital capabilities, corporate governance and partnerships to support measurable operational excellence. 

As Senior Legal Counsel & Company Secretary at Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd from 1990-2007, he led the Corporate Secretarial Advisory Services team for all 17 companies of Shell operating in Malaysia, which included Shell Refining Company (FOM) Bhd (SRC), a public listed company. He served as Principal Advisor for matters pertaining to Related Party Transactions, legal drafting, vetting and liaising with Bursa KL (formerly known as KLSE) on the Shareholders Circular, and drawing up EGM/AGM procedures for directors. He was also responsible for conveyancing, dispute/litigation, construction and commercial contracts, and compliance issues relating to permits and licensing requirements in the Oil and Gas industry. Having held corporate leadership at multinational companies, Mohd Nordin has deep insights into areas such as legal, ICT and innovation, Human Resource, and governance from the perspective of various practices in countries of the ASEAN region. 

Mohd Nordin Jamaludin obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Honours) from University of West London, United Kingdom and attended several professional Management Courses.
